Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
I can’t wait to eat endless amounts of turkey and pigs in blankets, play lots of board games, and happily eat chocolate for breakfast.
It’s the one time of year when most people slow down and switch off.
And that’s exactly why you shouldn’t be worrying about social media over Christmas.
Now is the perfect time to schedule your posts in advance, so you can enjoy the food, the films, and that confusing week between Christmas and new year when nobody knows what day it is.
Here are five simple ways to keep your social media ticking over during the festive break.
1. Post your Christmas opening hours
This one’s quick, helpful, and stops your clients guessing.
All you need is a simple graphic or short caption. You can schedule one for early December and another just before Christmas, so your clients definitely see it. At worst, you’ll have just told them twice.

It’s that time of the year again when we’ll be taking a short break for Christmas, so here’s our schedule:
🔴 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: Monday 23 December
🟢 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Thursday 2 January
As always, if you have any questions during this time, please still get in touch 👇

2. Share a Merry Christmas message
This doesn’t need to be anything fancy; it could be a team photo, your office tree, or a Christmas version of your logo.
It’s a simple way to stay visible and keep your social media feeling personal, showing the humans behind the business.
Example post to try:
𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 [𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲], 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀! 🎅
We hope you have a wonderful time with your loved ones, whatever you’re up to.
3. Share some pictures from your office Christmas party
You don’t need to post every photo from the night, but a simple team picture or a quick photo of everyone in Christmas jumpers always goes down well. It also encourages engagement, as people may comment saying “Enjoy!” or “Looks great!”
People are nosy and love seeing the humans behind a business. These posts show personality, make your feed feel more real, and show the team having some fun.

We had a lovely time celebrating with the whole team, a chance to let our hair down and enjoy some festive fun.
But it’s back to business this week as we get ready for the big day!
Merry Christmas everyone 🎅
4. Post a “Happy New Year” message
Once Christmas has passed and everyone is slowly moving on to their new year plans, a simple new year post is a nice way to thank your team and clients for a great year.
It’s also a warm message to wish people well as they move into 2026, so they know you’re still going to be there for them in the coming 12 months.
Example post to try:
We want to wish all our wonderful clients, both old and new, a very Happy New Year.
We can’t wait to continue to support you further in 2026 😀
5. Share a round-up of your favourite moments from 2025
A year-end round-up is a great way to reflect on the year. You could include everything you’ve achieved, team changes, events, awards, charity work, and anything else you’re proud of.
It doesn’t need to be too long or detailed, and you could add an image for each point. A simple look back at the highlights shows your business has been active and growing.
These posts normally get good engagement because people love seeing personal posts from a business, especially ones that show progress and positivity.

This year, we not only supported our clients and their families with their financial decisions but also had a lot of fun along the way!
