This tip will help you impress existing clients and get more referrals.
It’s so simple, I can’t believe we haven’t shared it before in a blog. Let’s put that right and dive in.
Here it is: when a new client, who has been referred to you by an existing client, leaves a Google or VouchedFor review, share it with the client who made the introduction.
I told you it was simple!
But just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it isn’t effective, because:
- It costs nothing and is easy to do
- It’s another touchpoint with your existing client
- It shows your client that the people they introduced are happy with your service and encourages them to recommend others.
Unfortunately, despite it being so easy, I don’t know any advisers or planners doing this.
Template text to make it even easier
All you need to do is take a screenshot of the review, then send it in an email to the client who made the introduction with a quick thank-you note.
For example, you could say something like this:
“Dear <insert names>
Thank you again for introducing me to <insert the name>.
I thought you’d like to know that they have been delighted with the work we’ve done together and have recently left this review on Google/VouchedFor.
<insert screenshot of review>
We value your introductions to us, meaning people you care about will have a better financial future.
Thank you once again.
<insert usual sign off>”
Do these two things when a new client leaves a review
So from now on, when you receive a Google or VouchedFor review, do these two things.
- Write a reply, remember you can save time by using The Yardstick Review Responder, our unique ChatGPT tool
- Check to see if the review was from someone previously introduced to you by an existing client. If it was, take a screenshot of it and send it to the original client with a quick thank you note
Like all the best tips, it’s so simple.
But it’ll only work if you go and do it, so over to you!
