How consistency and content can make you stand out from the crowd

How do you stand out in a crowd? Well, if you’re an introvert like me, you probably don’t want to!

But standing out on social media could be the difference between finding your next client and having your competitor take them.

If your competitors are posting great content and you aren’t, where are your prospective clients more likely to go?

My guess would be…

Geoff, down the road, posts three times a week with great content that gives away invaluable advice backed up by social proof from his clients.

Why not you? Well, because you aren’t showing up, people aren’t seeing your content, and you aren’t being consistent.

Content

Content is truly king.

Without great content that speaks to your ideal client, you’ll find it hard to stand out. Your content should:

  • Add value to your potential client’s life
  • Leave them feeling inspired
  • Teach them something
  • Make them laugh.

If it doesn’t, there is a possibility they could unfollow or mute your content.

So, this is where a plan works great (and who doesn’t love a plan?!)

Create a client profile

You know who your ideal client is, right? Well, spend an hour with a pen and some paper and reconnect with them. Ask yourself:

  • What are the top three financial worries they have?
  • What newspapers do they read?
  • What keeps them up at night?
  • What do they look like?

These aren’t the only questions you need to consider, but I’ll let you into a secret: We ask our social clients a few of these when we onboard them.

Consistency

Now you have your ideal client, and you’ve started posting; it’s all about being consistent.

No, you don’t need to be sat in front of your laptop every couple of hours, but you should have a posting plan in place.

With our clients, we tend to recommend three times a week, usually Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. But find the best days that work for you.

If you have limited resources, pick one or two platforms that your clients use most and really own those pages.

Top tip: Scheduling is your best friend!
