An important update for all Yardstick clients

The children are back at school and the last Test match of the summer is drawing to a close. So, we thought now was the perfect time to update you on a few changes here at The Yardstick Agency and unveil some new innovations we’ll be rolling out over the next few weeks.

Let’s start though with some news about our team at The Yardstick Agency.

We are now 13 strong, however, we’ve recently had a couple of changes; Monique and Luci have left for pastures new and been replaced by Kayleigh Rawstron (Marketing Assistant) and Charlotte Malone (Personal Finance Copywriter).

If you need to contact either Kayleigh or Charlotte, their email addresses are:

kayleigh@theyardstickagency.co.uk

charlotte@theyardstickagency.co.uk

Those clients who we produce regular content and newsletters for will get to know Charlotte and Kayleigh very well, in the meantime though feel free to drop them a line to say “hi” and welcome them aboard.

Still on the team, you might like to know that Dan Campbell, our Head of Branding & Design, will be marrying his fiancée Cat this coming Saturday. We wish them both a long and happy future together.

Updating your client data

We want your newsletters to be as effective as possible. It’s therefore important to keep the data we hold and send your newsletter to, as up to date as possible.

To make your life easier we have created portals for each of our clients which will allow you to add or remove people from the list your newsletter is sent to. It’s simple, secure and should make keeping your newsletter address books up to date very simple.

We’ll roll these portals out over the next couple of weeks.

Social media banners

Most of our clients use social media. However, we’ve noticed that many of the profile images could use a little TLC. So, we’ve rebuilt the social media banners for each of our clients for free.

Again, we’ll roll these out over the next couple of weeks. Naturally, you’re under no obligation to use them, however, we hope you will like them.

The cost? Nothing. Consider it our gift to you to help you look a little smarter online. What’s more, to save you the hassle, we’ll even upload them for you.

Telephone lines

We’ve grown considerably over the past year and while our answering service was a great short-term solution we know it’s not been universally popular. So, we’ve listened and invested in a new phone system more befitting our size.

We are in the process of moving our old telephone number and towards the end this month we expect the new system to be fully operational. Our number (0115 815 7770) will remain the same.

Animations

We launched our Chartered Animation Package to rave reviews earlier this year.

That’s given us the confidence to move forward with creating a library of similar animations. The next off the production line will focus on the value of financial advice / planning. The script is finished, and we are working with the animator to complete the project, which we expect to launch in October.

In the meantime, if you are a Chartered adviser or firm you can view our first animation by clicking here.

Our 2018 Adviser Directory Survey

Loved and loathed in equal measure adviser directories (Unbiased, VouchedFor and AdviserBook) are an important source of new enquiries for many advisers and planners.

Our 2018 director survey is still open but will be closing in the next few days. If you haven’t yet completed it, we’d be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes (four to be exact, unless you type slow or have a lot to say!) to share your views.

You can find the survey by clicking here.

The white paper, including the survey results, will be published in early October.

Events

Like you, we could spend our entire life at conferences, however, time is precious which is why we’ve chosen to attend what we believe to be the three best conferences our profession has to offer over the next three months.

We’ll be at BACK2Y this week, the NextGen Planners conference in October and Humans Under Management in November.

If you are there we look forward to catching up.

And finally…

I’d like to finish this update where I started it, with our team.

We set The Yardstick Agency up with 3 aims; to help financial advisers and planners market their business more effectively and help to promote the value of financial advice while creating jobs in Nottingham.

It’s been a great ride since we launched in January 2017 and we’ve only just begun. However, we wouldn’t have achieved what we have so far without our dedicated team. I’m hugely grateful for their efforts and putting up with me, so I’d like to sign off by saying a big thank you to each and every one of them.
